A Unique Opportunity to Support Families Right Here in Forsyth County

Offer your congregation or group members a mission opportunity in their own community.
Many weeks of the year, local congregations serve as hosts to the families participating in the Family Promise Residential Program — providing a place to stay, meals, and most important of all… loving hospitality.
We understand, however, that not every congregation or community group has the physical space to host families overnight. That’s why we’ve created a new opportunity that opens the door for any group to get involved — without needing to provide housing.
Introducing: Local Mission. Lasting Change.
Family Promise of Forsyth County now has a dedicated host space, which means your group can “adopt a week” and take responsibility for meals, evening hospitality, and overnight care — all in our space, with your support.
It’s a simple, powerful way to serve families in crisis — and it all happens right here in your own community.
How It Works
Hosting a week with Family Promise is simple, meaningful, and completely local. Your group “adopts” a week to support families in our Residential Program by showing up with compassion, hospitality, and practical help.
1. We Provide the Space
Families stay at our designated Family Promise host site.
Your group doesn’t need to provide housing — we’ve got that covered!
2. You Bring the Support
Your group signs up to cover one week of hosting by:
-
Preparing and sharing dinner each evening (Sunday–Saturday)
(Training is required and provided.) -
Providing two trained overnight hosts each night (Sunday–Saturday)
-
Collecting basic supplies like paper goods, hygiene items, and snacks
-
Helping with setup on the first day and breakdown on the final Sunday
-
Washing and returning bedding
3. Serve as a Team
This is a perfect opportunity for:
-
Congregations of all sizes
-
Small groups, youth groups, and families
-
Businesses or service clubs
Children and teens are welcome to serve alongside adults, making this a meaningful way to model empathy and community care.
4. Make a Real Difference
In just one week, your group can:
-
Give families a sense of stability and dignity
-
Be part of their journey from homelessness to housing
-
Build stronger bonds within your own team
